I have a small design shop on cafepress.com, where I sell Nerd/Geek related tshirts and swag. I've been having great fun and getting a positive response.
I am the tech monkey and an apprentice glassblower at the DO U GLASS Hot Shop, part of the Douglass School Art Place, in Murphysboro, IL.
I was born in downtown Los Angeles and was raised between there and a small town in San Diego County called Fallbrook. I am a combo city boy/small town type. I am shameless Californian, with a long time love of the Pacific Ocean. I am currently landlocked in Southern Illinois, which is beautiful, but has "very interesting" weather/climate.
I am also an undergraduate student at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, finishing a degree in Information Systems Technologies begun over 20 years ago. I was a cryptographic radio electronics tech in the U.S. Navy many years ago. I have been a field tech of one sort or another over my career. I am a MCSE and have a number of other tech certifications (for what that is worth) and have taught technology from in-house training to teaching vocational rehabilitation.
I have a long time interest in MBTI and consider myself to be an INTJ/P.
I try to achieve balance in my life between Art and Science. I find the blend to be more interesting then either standing alone.

Experts ponder link between creativity, mood disorders - CNN.comdeep and serious?!?!?!? not rick!!! I agree though and would add that creativity is utilized in not only the Arts. In Science, the greatest discoveries have come from creatively pushing the boundaries. There's is creativity in an elegantly designed algorithm. The Ego And The CrisisSpeaking of ego, to me it's not all bad. some ego is the basis of self worth/self survival. greed is another thing entirely.
