In my time, I'm a selfless, self-proclaimed artist, musician, engineer, writer, theorist, patternist, guinea pig, and researcher. I am an automath who never really saw the need for school and how it applies to myself because it slows me down and it is still mostly incompatible with my primary methods of learning.
