The User's Guide to Imaginary Gadgets
Public
The REAL name of this Twine should be Things Kurt Kan't Buy.
Inspired by Bruce Sterling's Post-Veridian Manifesto at http://craphound.com/lastviridian.txt, (and at Kurt's prompting) This is a Twine to save all those beautifully designed and concepted Gadgets that are so prevalent on the Interwebs but you can't seem to find them, try them, or buy them at your local mega-mart or tool shop.
Inventions, creations, design theories, concepts, renderings, and proposals that look cool, but will most likely never see the light of day are what we want to see.
Please feel free to post anything you find that looks great, would be neat to have, or is a wonderful idea presentation, so we can ease our collective desires to have that which we cannot achieve.

The End of an Era | Blog | design mindI've just returned from the IDSA conference in Miami, and I'm both convinced that, in ten years, there won't be an IDSA conference to go to - and that isn't a bad thing. I don't mean this in a disparaging sense; I enjoyed the conference, caught up with old friends, made new friends, and learned ...

1090 Degrees: Vertical Parking System Parks Three Cars In The Space Of One - The Design blogInteresting concept, but also a fine example of how designers can ignore even the most basic realities in pursuit of a concept. As any parent will quickly tell you, this concept is pure insanity---can you imagine the collection of broken toys, cheerios, sand, and other detritus that would pile .... .•∞º˙ added 2 weeks ago

10A Daily Dose of Architecture: Enclosing the BQEI used to drive the BQE every morning to get to school. Talk about a nightmare commute. This would actually make it much more bearable, even though it still stinks to get stuck in traffic, and be elevated 60ft off the ground, on a neverending bridge that wobbles at every joint when a truck .... .•∞º˙ added 7 months ago

10mutually beneficial synanthropy | ZogdoWhat a great idea! We should have these installed in every Government building and public parks, streets, and cities. Have the crows collect all that change, and use the money to pay off all the spending deficits our government is racking up for us.. .•∞º˙ added 7 months ago
