5 simple things you can do to elect Obama
This twine can be used in anyway to help sway the November election towards all things progressive.
I want to create an email that will prompt people to do small things to help Obama (and get a democratic majority elected to the house and senate). The note below outlines the starting point. Would appreciate any suggestions you might have.

5 simple things u can do to get Obama elected.
Just a few weeks to go. As Bush V Gore demonstrated, even a handful of votes can make a difference. If you believe like I do, that there is a chance the world will be a better place with Obama (and a democratic congress) at the helm in the US, please note and act on some of these 5 simple things you can do to help he cause.
1) Talk to the people in the states that are up-for-grabs.
Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Missiouri, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada
These are the states that will decide the election. If you know "anyone" in these states, call them, email them, encourage them to register, and vote for Obama.

2) Volunteer
Even if you live in a state that is decidely Republican or Democrat, there a many ways easy to chip in.

3) Donate
Yup, the system is not the best, its an expensive businesss to run for prez.

4) Get an Obama bumper sticker, t-shirt, button, badge, hat etc.

5) Shamelessly forward this email to anyone you know.
Gotta be done. Stakes are too high
Thanks, Steve.

Number of votes cast set record, but voter turnout percentage didn't - CNN.com
Disappointment over Sen. John McCain's choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, combined with a perception that the ticket would lose, prompted many would-be Republican voters to ditch the polls on Election Day, Gans said. "There was real hostility ... amongst moderate ...

Comment added by JDP on 11/03/2008Contrary to evidence submitted by several previous heads of the FDA, the Bush administration argues for the drug industry that FDA rules trump consumers' right to sue - yet another example of EXPANDING government regulations "as you like it" by an administration purportedly against bigger ... -

Bush rushes 'harmful' environment laws
Comment added by JDP on 11/03/2008The truth about many Republican's, particularly this administration's, stance on regulations - they're ONLY "inherently bad" if they don't serve your particular political and economic agenda - that is, the agenda set by one's cronies and special interests. Hence, the Bush administration having ... -

Unregulated Credit Default Swaps Led to Weakness
Comment added by JDP on 11/03/2008How yet another gambling strategy - this time an interlocking (pyramidal!?) one called "netting" - further exacerbated the credit default swap mess and the current financial crisis. So the "invisible hand" of the market, left to itself by deregulation, socked it to the financial markets and ...
