The current Labour government in Britain has brought in a number of pieces of legislation that restrict individual freedoms, ancient freedoms. The justification is that in a post 9/11 world with global terrorism and global crime the state has the right to curb our individual freedom to guarantee a safer society. The Conservative party argues that a society without basic individual freedom is no society at all.
