Local Food
Public
In my part of Kentucky, we could feed all our people wonderful food if we worked on it. Instead, without realizing it, we rely on a three day food "cushion" of trucked-in foods from California, Florida, Mexico, Chile and other countries. Growing our own foods and committing to support local growers of sustainably grown foods makes fine economic sense. I'm even more interested in how delicious and pleasurable it all is. Food self-reliance, food self-sufficiency, food that is good, clean and fair.
