Libraries of the Future
Description
The university library of the future will be sparsely staffed, highly decentralized, and have a physical plant consisting of little more than special collections and study areas, says Daniel Greenstein, vice provost for academic planning and programs at the University of California System.

We'll all be outsourced to OCLC and Google, it seems. Of course, we can take heart that these policies are working so well in the State of California right now.

So what do you think? They just announced the layoff of 29 library employees at the main library here, making it sound like it was the best thing since Dewey Decimal.
