Description
As an unpractical futurist the concept of singularity (the theoretical future point of technological advancement in which the ability for software to improve itself using artificial intelligence is archived) is an idea that has been of great interest to me for a long time. In order to create a self improving cloud computing systems (autonomic computing) you first need to look at what "life" is and how it can be applied to computing.

Interesting subject. Although, I would not call it "Singularity". There is much to be said about what "life" is besides re-creating and adapting. This is just scratching a surface. So making connection from "autonomic computing" to "life" to "singularity" seems to be just throwing big words around with very superficial understanding behind it all. Besides, "evolutionary computing" can not just happen inside clouds based on autonomic capabilities. Computing can only evolve as a result of living, that is not merely self-correcting, but actively consuming environment and expanding into new spaces. The main question is - what kind of computing environment and spaces can support computational evolution. I doubt that cloud computing has anything to do with answering that question.
