I was first introduced to Audrey Rose at Secondary School as part of my English class. It freaked me out then and as a consequence it is one of my favourite books and films of all time.

Audrey Rose is a fictional character but she (and the book) is based on real events.

My own copy of Audrey Rose (book) is battered and damaged beyond repair due to constant reading (it's one of a select few of books that I constantly re-read over and over again) and I don't think I will ever manage to replace it. However, I do own, now, a copy of the film; the same film that I watched all those years ago at school...

Audrey Rose is a 1977 horror film, allegedly based on real life events, directed by Robert Wise, starring Marsha Mason and Anthony Hopkins. It was based on the novel of the same title by Frank De Felitta. The book had a sequel, For Love of Audrey Rose, which was not filmed.
