robots.net - Using GPS with AVR, PIC, or dsPIC Micros
Get Feed- Description
- The May 2009 issue of Elektor magazine includes a handy tutorial on integrating a GPS with common microcontrollers. It's simple but covers the basics of talking NMEA and calculating longitude and latitude. The article provides schematics and covers three different micros, the AVR ATMega128, the PIC16F887, and dsPIC30F6014A. Source code in C, BASIC, and Pascal is provided for each type of micro. And to make things more fun, each version is available in English, German, Spanish, French, Dutch, Italian and Serbo-Croatian. (If you're counting, that comes out to 3 micros x 3 programming languages x 7 article languages = 63 versions of the article!). So check it out and help your robot find its way in the world.
