- Description
-
Polymath writer and artist Margaret Wertheim and her twin sister CalArts professor Christine grew tired of knitting and crocheting and began to experiment. By crocheting crooked, they found corals and sea slugs in yarn, and rediscovered the hyperbolic knit of Cornell mathematician Daima Taimina.
The knits also remind me of beautiful Daly Chihuly seaforms. See Margaret demonstrate in a companion TED Talk what makes geometry hyperbolic.
