What is the B2WW Challenge?
The B2WW Challenge as part of the Columbus celebration of National Bike-To-Work Week is a competition among Columbus employers with the goal of replacing as many automobile commutes as possible.
1 point is awarded for each one-way commute to work by bicycle starting Monday, May 4 and continuing through Thursday, May 14 . 2 points per day is the maximum allowed per person. The competition is divided into five categories based on the number of employees at your location (1–19, 20-99, 100-499, 500 – 999, 1000+). The employers with the highest points to employee ratio will be declared the winners. All participants are invited to the free B2WW Challenge Awards Luncheon at a location to be named, Friday, May 15 from 11:30 – 1:00.
How does it work?
A team leader from your business creates a challenge team on this website. All interested employees from your business sign up on this website and track the number of trips and mileage made by bicycle between May 4 and May 15. One point is awarded for each one-way trip made by bicycle. At the end of the challenge, the winners from each size category will get an award.
Why does the Challenge last for two weeks this year?
Last year, Columbus' first Bike to Work Challenge lasted from Monday to Thursday of B2WW. By the time our co-workers realized what we were doing, it was over! This year we want to give everyone more opportunities to ride. And you'll have more time to convince your friends to try it.
