Description

Aardvark

Aardvark is social search:

Ask any question via IM or email

Live answers from your friends and their friends

Watch a quick demo

Aardvark (sample chat)

Use Aardvark in your existing IM program — nothing to download!

1. Ask Aardvark an everyday question

What’s the best place to go biking around Golden Gate Park?

2. Aardvark finds the perfect person to answer

3. Get a response in a couple minutes

Mia’s friend Tom says, “My favorite is a secret path that takes you to the beach…”

Why use Aardvark?

A real conversation with a friend (or friend-of-friend) can provide much better information than a web page. Think of all the knowledge and experience that you have in your head, but haven’t published on the web!

With Aardvark, there’s nothing to download or install — just send Aardvark a message through IM, like you do when talking to a friend!

What makes Social Search so great?

Social Search enables you to tap into the wisdom of your real-world social network, in real-time.

Aardvark applies advanced technology to identify the right person, among the tens of thousands in your extended network, to answer a particular question; and then lets you reach out without bothering people, spamming friends, or imposing on someone who isn’t interested.

Read more on our blog or download our white paper [pdf].

What do Aardvark users say?

“You’ve saved me hours of reading camera reviews online - I got the perfect recommendation from a friend of a friend.”

Looks like a nice service, but don't you need to make many friends on this network before it will become useful? Why not offer it as an additional service on an existing network (like Twine, LinkedIn or Facebook)?
