Just in case: it still persists. Is my account too old and buggy? Reboot? Re-Install Twine? ;)

Here's a work-around I've gotten used to...The count gets messed up if you view new items in your inbox out of order and then delete a more current one before deleting an older one. The solution I've found that works is to locate an older message on your list--preferably one you don't care about, like an Added notification, and delete that one.

It seems that the count buffer gets thrown out of whack trying to reconcile old vs. new messages and is having difficulty registering the correct count when newer things are deleted before older things. Delete something old, refresh, and see if your counts don't reset. (sometimes you have to delete a few things.) I am now in the habit of just deleting everything now once I've reviewed it, and don't have the bad count issue to deal with any longer. :-)
