      Thanks David, very interesting experience.

As we have posted extensively at Learning Theories and Methods, inquiry, problem, project, authentic, etc based learning gives a whole theoretical and practical approach for an independent and creative learner. Also have a look to Célestin Freinet work on collaborative inquiry based learning

Chercher pour trouver : l'espace des élèves.

Célestin Freinet - Louis Legrand, UNESCO.

Cooperative Learning and Social Change: Selected Writings of Célestin Freinet - Google Book.

Another important point is the link between this approach to adult education and learning, from Paulo Freire popular education into self-organized community learning for change. From inquiry based learning into participatory citizens based planning and development, etc.

All these gives us a theoretical and methodological continum of learning and change, from a social child to a social adult. Learning to become a citizen just from childhood.

The students from the experience you posted, are going to be better life-long learners and citizens, civic agents.
