  I tried Modafinil (Provigil) when I was revising for my finals; I didn't get the same magnitude of effect as this guy, but it was certainly a stronger stimulant than caffeine, and quite clean. I sometimes found it made me a bit jittery, as if I had drunk too much coffee. I think it did increase my work output.
  
  I didn't find that it allowed me to stay up all night working, as some have reported, but I did wake up feeling completely alert, which is unusual for me: I normally take at least an hour to wake up properly.
