How many foreigners should be allowed into the British Army to get themselves killed in pointless wars and en route to so doing - we hope - kill other foreigners?
It is an interesting ethical question.
The British Army has called for a cap of 15% of foreign servicemen in order to “safeguard the Britishness” of the army. It is also worried about our military effectiveness if we are too reliant upon alien soldiers - foreign powers may prevent their citizens from obeying the call to arms when we’ve got ourselves involved in military action that is deranged, stupid or illegal or indeed - as has recently been the case - all three of these.
