Who Wants to Help Moderate this twine?

Description Click to Edit

Are there any members of the community who would like to help moderate this twine? Or would you like to nominate anyone else? It would be good for this twine to be moderated by users as well as Twine staff. Ideally users can do it themselves.

If we have some candidates, then we can have a vote and elect some moderators here.

hmmmn.... can't vote for someone who isn't running.

I don't think my jobs will let me enough time for that, but i'll certainly give a hand from time to time (except i'll never delete anything but my own contributions - discussion's best)

Nova, what do you mean by moderate? Do you mean 'be an administrator', or is there new functionality in the works that you have in mind?

Moderation means being an admin yes. Admins will have moderation abilities in the future.

I will give you hand, if you want, cheers

+1

I can give a hand. Whether there are some odd number of moderators, we can consider quick votes for 'indecidable' cases regarding items removals / moving.

Setting a clear "twine's rules" might help moderators' role ?

i don't mean anything complicated, as general rules imply no insults, threat, etc. (this is (ok, should) just normal rule in human relations)
but some details on why something is moderated, and how ...

first rules might be basic ones like : no spam (not really illegal, but inamical), no deletion without a message (at least for the first times it happens) - nothing new, but my suggestion would simply be to write this on twine's entrance wall ;)

i don't think there are (yet) irresponsible people here, so simple messages and clear description of what is attended here or not could reduce the moderator's role to its best : help people

Ok so far Facyla and Shal are co-moderators since they have opted in. If others want to help let us know. First order of biz is to come up with a set of guidelines for this twine.

so.... F43n[h 4u13Z ? ok, for a month or two, then i think there should be turn-over, as it teaches people to become always more responsible and comprehensive about other people action and perspective

as there has been no vote yet (and i don't want to organize elections myself), i suggest that anyone who criticizes the moderator's action, or think he's more qualified, shares or takes the role instead ;)

Turn-over would be great as you pointed out to induct more responsibilities ...

I meant rather designing moderation than actually moderate, due to the little time i can spent lol so here are my internal moderation rules :

→ people who think a thread needs moderation directly ask intervention to admins by personal message or in a special thread if not connected (the longer it's not created, the better it is ;) ) - i may arbitrate on my free time, never monitor
=> feature request here : allow to sent messages to people that are in the same twine (only in this twine's context - like a notification, but only in the twine - no general message)

→ violation of Terms of use and all that's about "Report this" scope is abuse report, not moderation, so i will suggest to use the appropriate feature for that

Moderator's role is :
→ to arbitrate when someone asks for it (this is about having a short private messages exchange to clarify what's going on)
→ to help organizing content into the twine itself (THIS is the part i'll try to focus on, when i can)

General guidelines : responsability and self-regulation
