Mission: The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) will be the regional voice and a catalyst for sustainability and economic prosperity in order to secure a competitive advantage for central Ohio.

MORPC is the place where visions and ideas about our growing region are created, designed, discussed, and embraced. We are a voluntary association of local governments serving central Ohio. A catalyst for regional change, evidence of our work is seen everyday through planning, programming and public policy in the areas of economic development, energy, environment, housing, transportation and land use.

MORPC's 40th Anniversary Celebrates Regional Leaders

If you know someone who is actively involved in improving central Ohio tell MORPC about them. MORPC is accepting nominations for the Regional Leadership Award and the William C. Habig Collaborative Achievement Award. Outstanding nominees and award recipients will be recognized at MORPC‘s State of the Region Luncheon on April 30, 2009, which is a part of their 40th anniversary celebration.

This year MORPC Board Chair Dean C. Ringle and MORPC Executive Director Chester R. Jourdan Jr . presented Ty D. Marsh , President and CEO of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce with the Regional Leadership Award. The William C. Habig Collaborative Achievement Award was presented to entities that signed the Central Ohio Green Pact

The Regional Leadership Award was initiated in 1997 and recognizes individuals in an 12-county region (Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Knox, Licking, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Pickaway, Ross and Union counties) who make extraordinary efforts to ensure the future viability of central Ohio and its communities.

The William C. Habig Collaborative Achievement Award was created in 2006 in honor of William C. Habig , who served as MORPC’s executive director for 34 years. The award recognizes individuals who have achieved an effective effort and/ or innovative collaborative in central Ohio. The ...
