Plus, we could well be looking at "Minority Report" advertising (and data gathering?) associated with such technology ... leading to a further erosion of what little privacy one might assume they have. Can you say "ad overload" in spades?
Not being a "luddite" here - mobile payments might certainly be a great convenience and commerce enabler. However, having seen what a failure to build in security can cost (BILLIONS in fraud and identity theft, often enabled electronically), will vendors and governments step up to the obvious challenges and risks, or will we once again have visited upon us many BAD unintended (but definitely foreseeable) consequences?
