Microsoft's Vista Capable maneuver has left a lot of people steamed -- including top execs at HP. Unsealed court documents reveal a chain of e-mail correspondence reflecting Intel's jubilation and HP's fury at Microsoft's decision to lower its Vista hardware requirements. Users who found they couldn't run the OS on some "Vista Capable" Intel-powered machines were irritated enough to sue.

"Military intelligence". "Business ethics". "Compassionate conservatism." To those add "Microsoft credibility" (and it's two other mega-businesses with that opinion!).

AND, what's really ODD is that one might add "Chief EXECUTIVE Officer" to that list - at least for Microsoft. Ballmer replied to the heated complaints that "I had nothing to do with this" (no chief part? no execution part? both?).
