This will expose my bias but Shermer is a man of reason. Lennox only says "this and that prominent thinker believed...", he poses no real arguments and his demand for anti-proof of a 2000 year old story is, ... well.

Shermer is right. It is all about "but is there anything at all, that appears to puzzle everyone" - ad infinitum. But why can't we just accept an axiom? A fundamental truth.
