Twine Release Notes 7-23-2008 (Sprint 25)

Overview

The key changes in this release include: sending private messages to connections, twine and email setting options, redesign of logged out home page, redesign of new member welcome experience, guest users are allowed browse public content, Twine public content may be found via search engines.

Main New Features, Improvements

Send a private message to connections (new feature)

•    It is now possible to send a private message (and reply) to anyone who is connected to you.
•    The option to send a message is available on the ‘My Connections’ view, and the items tab of a twine.
•    Notification of private messages may be received via email.

Twine settings  (new feature)

•    On the www.twine.com/account/subscriptions view, you may choose which twines should be included on the Bookmarklet, Interest Feed, Daily Digest
•    This will enable you to remove clutter, while still maintain your twine memberships

Email settings (new feature)

•    On the new www.twine.com/account/changeContactInformation page, you may choose whether you or not want to receive email notifications for: connection requests, invitations to join twines, messages from connections.
 

Redesign of welcome experience (improvement)

•    New members are greeted with a redesigned welcome experience
•    New members will be better informed about how to use Twine as an interest network

Guest browsing of public content (improvement)

•    Guests (non twine members) are permitted to browse all of Twine’s public content.
•    Twine’s public content is findable via search engines

Minor Improvements and Bug Fixes

Bookmarklet

•    Various problems encountered when using the bookmarklet with Firefox 3 (fixed)
•    Editing the title of a URL via the bookmarklet does not save the title (fixed)
•    Members leaving a twine can still see the twine in the bookmarklet (fixed)

Interest Feed

•    Comments showing up with no title (fixed)

My Items  

•    Changing the title of an item doesn’t save (fixed)

Invitations

•    Twine invitations missing the description of the twine (fixed)

Deleting Twines

•    Deleted twines still showing up in bookmarklet (fixed)

Text Editor

•    Bug related to making text a link in text editor  (fixed)

General UI/Copy fixes and improvements

•    Help text for search filters was rewritten (fixed)
•    Replace the default images for twines and members (improvement)
•    Change the color for the Share/Remove/View Comments/View Web Page/Add Item options from pale green to blue (improvement)
•    Add new messaging area to home page. (Initially it will contain text relating to ‘Getting to Know Twine’) (improvement)
•    When a member leaves a twine, option to leave is still displayed (fixed)
•    "View All Members" link is missing at bottom right of "Active" tab on Twine Summary (fixed)
•    Tags are not always wrapping in tag panel (improvement)
