identi.ca opened it's doors today and the goldrush to secure your chosen username is on. Built with open source software, this app has a nice feel to it already...could this be the new twitter replacement?

It is going to take a lot to overthrow Twitter. If identi.ca is planning to take them on they better know what they are getting in to.
