I love Clipmarks ... but I don't really use it anymore. Twine is partly responsible for that.

Clipmarks has a great community surrounding it. I spent a summer using it to keep track of interesting clips, integrated with a WordPress blog (http://makice.wordpress.com). They have a facebook application and have been using Twitter (http://twitter.com/clipmarks) for a while. I think my use of the site peaked right before Forbes bought them out in August (http://venturebeat.com/2007/08/07/forbes-buys-social-bookmarking-site-clipmarks/), replaced by Twitter, Google Reader and now Twine.

ClipMarks suffers the same issues with redundant links. It was frustrating to seek Pops - the currency of popularity of a clip - only to see later clips of the same link get the attention. As with Twine, there is some sense of disincentive to contribute links when there is a fear myself or others have already added them. On the other hand, the browser plug-in is outstanding and the contextual clipping of content is a great constraint to find meaning in a page. (The tool is something I wish Twine would emulate.)

I agree that Clipmarks has jumped the shark. It's a shame too since it was a great service that allowed you, as your title suggests, to share more than just a link. There were one major problem with clipmarks then and I'm not whether or not it still exists, though I will go over and find out... yes, it's still the same.

Clipmarks is a quasi-walled garden. Though you could see the content of someone's clip and link to the source , you could not leave a comment without signing up for the service. That was a real turn off for me.

As Kevin pointed out above, Clipmarks also failed to read the tea leaves as other services like Twitter and Jaiku and also Tumblr etc appeared. The look and feel is the same now as it was a year ago, but the world around it has changed (although I see they've reconfigured and added some ajax action so that everything's visible without scrolling down the page. That's a nice touch.)
