"Visual analysis of controversy in user-generated encyclopedias"
Get Feed- Description
- The Spring 2008 issue of the journal "Information Visualization" is a special issue on Visual Analytics Science and Technology. "Visual Analytics is the science of analytical reasoning facilitated by interactive visual interfaces (Thomas, J.J., & Cook, K.A. (Eds.). (2005). Illuminating the Path: The Research and Development Agenda for Visual Analytics. Los Alamitos, CA: IEEE Computer Society)" In the article the authors show how visualization and data analysis can be run against page edit history from Wikipedia to reveal elements of controversy. This is a great example of how semantic web data and new analysis techniques can be combined to reveal interesting phenomena.
